A Brief History of the Evolution of The Vision Of Raider3...
the vision of raider3 .
Beta version 6.15 - last: 2001.11.9 - design by r3... clipping and pasting...

The Vision of Raider3 originally started out as a one-page site, hosted through the Prodigy Service, back around May 1995. (Original Title: The Official Red Raider 3 Home Page) It was small, rough, and simple, but it was my first effort at staking out a claim for myself here on the net...

Around October of 1995, which marked my arrival to the "real" Internet, (In other words, my making the leap to an actual ISP, well, at least Netcom ^_^;) the Raider3 Home Page relocated to a somewhat larger and more versatile location at Geocities. (About a max of 1 mb storage at the time, but, it allowed more space for stuff, and was somewhat more versatile. In fact, it's still a good place for folks who want to make a little place for themselves on the world wide wait. ^_^) Life was fine, and the original site at Prodigy was closed for good in April of 1996.

Over time, as I was working on more ideas for what I wanted to do with my home page, I realized that eventually, my needs would quickly outgrow the storage space I was allotted, and, towards summer 1996, I was considering relocating my home page. I weighted many options, preferring a low or no-cost alternative. Since my arrival on #anime! in late 1995, I had made a few IRC friends, with whom I chatted on a regular basis.

I've known Goemon and Jigen since around late 1995, and I first came upon Goemon's Anime.Net server by chance, and was impressed by the quantity and variety of the content. Even after the Great Split (Around early 1996, when Goemon and co. set up the irc.anime.net version of #anime!, as an alternative to the splits, lags, desynchs, and other problems of the EFnet side. There hasn't been a big rush to move over to the Anime.net side, and several folks seem to have their own reasons not to make the move, but, perhaps, it was for the best... There's a great little group of people on the anime.net side, open to opinions, willing to offer advice on lunix, but ever-vigilant aganst lusers nonetheless... ^_^

Anyway, I became a regular on the EFnet and anime.net sides of the channel, and, in August 1996, with encouragement from Fuu and teapot, I asked Goemon if I could relocate my home page here on Anime.net. He agreed, and the rest, as they say, is history... Been here since then, and hope to be here for a while...

As for my future plans, anything is possible -- Keep checking back here for more information!

Anyway, since you're here, that's about the story up to now... Please feel free flip back to take a look at the many individuals who have played a part in my life, and have helped make my stay here enjoyable. Enjoy!
