Pocky is a snack that could very well be considered a Food Of The Gods. (No, it won't make you pet rat big as a bear! ^_^;) It's like... Well, the best way to find out is to experience it for yourself.

Pocky is a snack food, consisting of cookies dipped in various flavor coatings, mostly consisting of wheat pretzels (and sometimes cocoa-wheat pretzels), and tasty coatings such as chocolate (regular and white, sometimes marbled), bittersweet dark chocolate, almond paste, strawberry flavor coatings, coconut paste, milk-based coatings, even azuki bean-paste (They're a kind of sweet red bean, usually found in authentic shave ice - I've known it to be an add on to shave ice served in San Francisco and San Jose's Japantowns...)

Of course, Pocky is also the name of an #anime! IRC fellow by the name of Richard Kim in real life... You might run into his home page link on here if you're not too careful!

My descriptions of Pocky can't really substitute for trying it yourself! Check your local Safeway supermarkets -- Sometimes you can find the chocolate variety, though it's a bit over priced. I'd seriously suggest Asian grocery markets, such as Yaohan. ^_^

So, feel free to delve deep into the taste sensation that is Pocky!

So, in the interest of helping raise public awareness of this affliction, I've decided the only thing I can do is.... Get more unsuspecting Americans interested in this simply wonderful Super Snack!

And so, the Pocky Addiction page was born... Conceived while coming down off a Black Bitter Marble Pocky Buzz... Supplies here at Raider3 central are running quite low, having exhausted most of what I acquired a while back... Looks like time for another Pocky run real soon!

Where can you find Pocky?
I usually get mine at Yaohan in San Jose (On the corner of Moorpark and Saratoga).
The flavors I've tried to date are:

• Bitter Chocolate (Now known as Men's Pocky)
• Almond
• Strawberry
• Strawberry (The "tsubu tsubu" variety, with bits of strawberry. It's actually quite good.)
• Azuki
• Milk
• Royal Milk Tea Marble (Mmmmm! ^_^;)
• Black Bitter Marble
• Creme Brulee Marble

If ever there is a sanctuary for the Pocky Underground, this must certainely be the place! Lists locations in the U.S.A. and elsewhere to find Pocky. This is a Canadian page, and I hear that Pocky is officially distributed in Canada. (And, alas, the U.S.A. stumbles around in ignorance of Pocky... That's messed up! ^_^;)

Glico's official page, and it's in Japanese. Being Nihongo-impaired at the present time, I'm afraid I can't give too much info on it, but I've found some nifty .AVI files of Pocky TV commercials on there.
