Beta version 6.30 - last: 2001.12.22 - design by r3... new generation pre 3...
Everyone needs some means of support, and I am no different. Gotta pay the bills some way. ^_^; But, seriously, I've been through quite a few jobs in the last 14 or so years, starting out from fast food in the beginning (and staying in it way too long, but that's another story.) with the hopes of achieving my “dream job” related in some way with computers... I'm getting there bit by bit. Currently, I work for GC Services, at their center in Riverbank, CA, contracting for MCI WorldCom, operating the California Relay Service. (Telecommunications Relay for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Speech-disabled communities in California.) Specifically, I am a Relay Operator/Communications Agent, conducting the relay process between TTY/PC users and conventional telephone users. I'm one of about 500 or so voices that can be heard up and down two states, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A lot of stuff about my job is based around proprietary and confidential information, so I'm going to opt out of going into detail about what I do, other than a few basic truths I've picked up on since I started back in 1997:
